Weekly Learning Goals

Q2 Week 10


MONDAY

9:30-9:45 Morning Work/Make Up Tests

9:45-10:15 Math & Reading Centers (This is to give students extra help/practice in skills they are struggling on) Centers will include: 
  • iXL (Money, Time, Number Patterns, & Place Value)
  • Writing (Make Up previous writing assignments)
  • iStation
  • Handwriting & Penmenship
  • Math Facts/Math Games

Starting at 10:20 until 11:50, we have "Holidays Around the World". 
Our schedule today is as follows:

10:20-11:00 Mrs. Vaughn's Room, Japan "Children's Day". We will be making origami samurai helmets and karp/koi kites.

11:00-11:40 Mrs. Ringold's Classroom, India. 

1:30-2:15 Ms. Alceius' Classroom

2:15-3:05 Ms. Bundick's Classroom, Sweden.

3:05 - Return to classrooms. Stack & Pack/ Indoor Recess


TUESDAY

9:30-9:45 Morning Work / Makeup Tests

9:45-10:30 Reading/ELA
Use the following link https://www.whychristmas.com/customs/fatherchristmas.shtml to investigate the origins of Santa Claus. The link may also be used to investigate Christmas Around the World (see icon at top of page). After finishing desired reading with class on the website, have students make Santa Claus craft.

11:00-11:40 Writing How to make the Grinch smile writing and craft activity/Elf Application

12:40-1:30pm Extra Practice for Winter Showcase

1:30pm-2:00pm  Science
Bill Nye the Science Guy "Magnetism" & Kahoot Matter Review

2:00pm-2:30 Math Addition Snowman (3 Digit #s) +/- 1, 100, 10. 

2:30-3:00 Math & Reading Centers (This is to give students extra help/practice in skills they are struggling on) Centers will include:

TONIGHT is our class Winter Showcase! Please drop off your child AT my classroom at 5:30pm (no later). I will open my classroom doors at 5:20. You may pick them up at my classroom after the winter showcase. These Padawans have been practicing so hard so I know you will want to see them in action!


WEDNESDAY


We are continuing our "Holiday's Around the World" Activities today.

9:30-10:15 Ms. Wiles' Room U.S.A. (BBQ Chips, Rootbeer, and Music)

10:20 - 11:05 Mrs. Eckman's Room  Germany (Gingerbread Snacks & Craft)

11:05-11:50- Return to Classroom & Classroom Book Exchange

11:50-12:20 Lunch

12:40-1:25pm Ms. Riley's Room, England (Holiday Poppet). 

1:25pm Return to Classroom

1:30-3:00pm Wonderful Wednesday (Movie: The Magic Snowflake), Games, & Study Hall

3:00pm Stack & Pack & Indoor Recess
